Who is the Del Mar District? If your unit is in Costa Mesa, Newport Beach, or Laguna Beach, then you are! The Del Mar District is an operational arm of the Orange County Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
Our mission is to support the units in the cities of Costa Mesa, Newport Beach, and Laguna Beach.
The District Committee plans and administrates the District. Special events such as Camporee and Cub Scout Day Camp are all planned by the District Committee. The Committee is made up of volunteers who want to help serve all the youth in the Del Mar area. If you have a passion for something specific in Scouting, and are willing to share it with youth outside of your unit, please consider attending the District Committee meetings each month.
The Commissioner Corps are your direct contacts with the District and Council. They are there to be a friend to your unit and to support your unit as you serve the youth in our area. If you have any questions about Scouting, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your Unit Commissioner or District Commissioners… They are there to help you.
